Pure Actives' Phytosphingosine Powder is a naturally occurring sphingoid base and ceramide precursor at ≥98% purity, playing a fundamental role in maintaining the skin's lipid barrier integrity. Phytosphingosine has a dual mechanism of action: it directly reinforces the stratum corneum's lipid matrix by integrating into ceramide pathways, while simultaneously exerting potent antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory effects. This makes it uniquely effective for formulations targeting barrier dysfunction, acne-prone skin, sebum regulation, and compromised or sensitized skin conditions.
This ingredient is intended for cosmetic use only. Not for internal consumption. Always conduct a patch test before use in finished formulations.
Add to the water phase of your formulation at 0.1–0.5%. Dissolve in warm water before combining with other ingredients. Suitable for barrier repair moisturizers, acne treatment serums, sebum-regulating toners, sensitive skin formulations, and ceramide-boosting creams.
