Pure Actives' Alpha-Bisabolol Liquid is a plant-derived monocyclic sesquiterpene alcohol at ≥98% purity (GC), sourced from Brazil and naturally occurring in chamomile and candeia wood. Alpha-Bisabolol is one of the most well-documented soothing actives in cosmetic science, with a long history of safe use and a robust body of evidence supporting its anti-inflammatory, skin-calming, and wound-healing properties. It functions through inhibition of pro-inflammatory mediators, reduction of transepidermal water loss (TEWL), and enhancement of skin penetration — making it both an effective active and a proven penetration enhancer in cosmetic formulations.
This ingredient is intended for cosmetic use only. Not for internal consumption. Always conduct a patch test before use in finished formulations.
Add to the oil phase of your formulation at 0.1–1.0%. As a clear liquid, Alpha-Bisabolol blends easily into carrier oils, emollients, and anhydrous formulations. Works synergistically with other soothing actives such as allantoin, panthenol, and niacinamide, and serves as a penetration enhancer for co-formulated actives. Suitable for sensitive skin serums, calming moisturizers, after-sun formulations, redness-relief treatments, and barrier-repair products.
