Description
Description
Stable: More oxidation-resistant than free Tocopherol.
INCI: Tocopheryl Acetate
Assay (active): ≥ 98%
Appearance: White to off-white fine powder
Solubility: Oil-soluble; insoluble in water
pH use range: Not pH-dependent within cosmetic range
How to use
Phase: Oil phase or cool-down. For emulsions, pre-dissolve in a light ester (e.g., CCT) or fractionated oil, then add ≤ 60 °C; best practice is ≤ 45 °C in cool-down.
Use level: 0.2–5% total formula
Leave-on face: 0.2–1%
Body lotions/creams: 0.5–2%
Balms/oils/anhydrous: 0.5–2% (higher if working as an oil-phase antioxidant adjunct)
Processing tips: Avoid prolonged high heat. Pair with chelator (e.g., EDTA) and, if needed, a support antioxidant (e.g., rosemary extract) in high-PUFA systems.
Compatibility
Excellent with esters, oils, butters, waxes, silicones, emulsifiers, UV filters, and most botanical oils. Avoid strong oxidizers.
Storage & shelf life
Store cool, dry, and protected from light. Reseal promptly. Shelf life: see COA (typically 24 months unopened).
Safety & Regulatory (applies to both grades)
For external cosmetic use only.
Not a preservative; still use a broad-spectrum preservative in water-containing formulas.
Perform stability and compatibility testing in your final product.
Follow your regional cosmetic regulations and labeling rules.
Suggested Usage & Formulation
Suggested Usage & Formulation
Add 0.5–2% to the oil phase or cool-down. Pre-dissolve in Coco-Caprylate/Caprate or squalane for easy incorporation. Keep temps ≤60 °C (ideally ≤45 °C). Compatible with esters, oils, butters, silicones, and most emulsifiers; avoid strong oxidizers. Not a preservative—include a broad-spectrum system in water-containing formulas. Perform stability/compatibility tests.
