Pure Actives' Polyquaternium-10 Powder is a cationic, water-soluble quaternized hydroxyethyl cellulose polymer used extensively in hair care and skin care formulations as a conditioning agent, film-former, and rheology modifier. Its permanent positive charge enables strong substantivity to negatively charged hair and skin surfaces, delivering lasting conditioning, detangling, and smoothing benefits even after rinsing. As a film-former, Polyquaternium-10 coats the hair shaft and skin surface to reduce friction, improve manageability, and enhance moisture retention. Its cellulose-derived structure makes it compatible with a wide range of surfactant systems and cosmetic actives.
This ingredient is intended for cosmetic use only. Not for internal consumption. Always conduct a patch test before use in finished formulations.
Disperse Polyquaternium-10 powder slowly into water while stirring to avoid clumping. Allow to fully hydrate before combining with other ingredients. Use at 0.1–1.0% depending on desired conditioning intensity. Compatible with anionic, amphoteric, and nonionic surfactants. Suitable for shampoos, conditioners, leave-in treatments, hair masks, body washes, and skin conditioning formulations.
