Pure Actives' Tetrahexyldecyl Ascorbate (THDA) is a stable, oil-soluble ester of Vitamin C at ≥98% purity, engineered to overcome the key limitations of conventional L-Ascorbic Acid in cosmetic formulations. Unlike water-soluble Vitamin C derivatives, THDA is lipophilic and readily penetrates the stratum corneum's lipid-rich environment, enabling superior dermal delivery of bioavailable Vitamin C. Once absorbed, THDA is enzymatically converted to L-Ascorbic Acid within the skin, where it exerts potent antioxidant, melanogenesis-inhibiting, and collagen-stimulating effects. Its exceptional oxidative stability makes it ideal for formulations requiring long shelf life without the discolouration issues associated with unstable Vitamin C forms.
This ingredient is intended for cosmetic use only. Not for internal consumption. Always conduct a patch test before use in finished formulations.
Add to the oil phase of your formulation at 0.5–3.0%. As a clear oil, THDA blends easily into carrier oils, emollients, and anhydrous formulations. Compatible with most cosmetic actives and suitable for use alongside retinoids, peptides, and AHAs. Suitable for brightening serums, anti-aging facial oils, dark spot treatments, vitamin C moisturizers, and photoprotective formulations.
