Tranexamic Acid Powder

Inhibits UV-induced melanin stimulation by blocking the keratinocyte-melanocyte signaling pathway. Clinically studied for melasma and PIH. Works upstream of tyrosinase — complementary to arbutin and kojic acid rather than redundant.

Alpha-Arbutin Powder

Formulation Notes

• All powder actives (Niacinamide, Tranexamic Acid, Alpha-Arbutin, Kojic Acid) are water-soluble — dissolve fully in Phase A before heating
• Add Licorice Clear Extract directly to Phase A — it’s water-based and heat-stable
• Kojic Acid oxidation warning: Kojic Acid turns pink/brown when exposed to air, light, or high pH. Always add Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E to the formula, keep pH at 5.0–5.5, use opaque or airless packaging, and minimize headspace in your container
• Ferulic Acid has low water solubility — pre-dissolve in a small amount of propanediol or ethanol before adding to the cool-down phase
• Add Vitamin E Oil, D-Panthenol, and Allantoin in cool-down to preserve their activity
• Conduct a 3-month stability test (40°C/75% RH) and patch test before commercializing
