Pure Actives' Polyglutamic Acid (PGA) Powder is a high molecular weight biopolymer derived from Bacillus subtilis fermentation, renowned for its exceptional moisture-binding capacity — up to 5,000x its weight in water, surpassing even hyaluronic acid. As a film-forming humectant, PGA works on the skin surface to create a moisture-retaining network that reduces transepidermal water loss (TEWL), improves skin texture, and delivers an immediate plumping and smoothing effect. It also enhances the skin's natural moisturizing factors (NMF) and supports hyaluronic acid retention by inhibiting hyaluronidase activity.
This ingredient is intended for cosmetic use only. Not for internal consumption. Always conduct a patch test before use in finished formulations.
Add to the water phase of your formulation at 0.1–1.0%. Dissolve slowly in warm water with gentle stirring; allow time to fully hydrate before combining with other ingredients. Suitable for hydrating serums, plumping moisturizers, anti-aging formulations, toners, and essence-type products.
