3. pH adjustment: Adjust finished product pH to 4.0–4.5 using citric acid or lactic acid solution. This range is critical for both efficacy and stability.
4. Chelate your formula: Add 0.1% Sodium Phytate or Disodium EDTA to the water phase to prevent metal-catalyzed degradation.
5. Preserve appropriately: Use a broad-spectrum preservative effective at low pH (e.g., phenoxyethanol-based systems). Test preservation efficacy at your target pH.
